It’s another terrible week for releases folks.

For the second week in a row, I can’t legitimately do a full column as I have nothing to recommend. Believe me folks, this isn’t down to a lack of effort on my part, there’s just some piss poor offerings around at the moment.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon – Not only is this film just as bad as the previous installment, this 2D only disc has no extras, with an extras-packed 3D disc showing up at some point next year, this one’s a pure cash grab for Christmas money. Avoid like the plague.

Horrid Henry – Ghastly looking effort available in both dimensions but who other than the very young could possibly want this?

Sarah’s Key – Kristin Scott Thomas is usually good value but nothing about this film screams out to me at all.

TT3D: Closer to the Edge – The one offering this week that I’m actually interested in is this apparently very fine documentary which is supposed to use the third dimension in an interesting way. I can’t recommend it as I haven’t seen it but this is one I hope to check out before the year is out.

And that’s it! I swear there’s better stuff out over the next couple of weeks!
