Join Jordan, Ian and Noel as they once again gas on about their favourite past time, the movies. They start by telling you what they’ve been watching this week which includes Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Daybreakers, Ong Bak and The Muppets.

The trailer talk this week is the new film in the Bourne franchise, the Jeremy Renner lead The Bourne Legacy.

And the three guys end the show with their main review of the show, that being the new box office smash horror flick The Woman in Black.

In response to Ian’s request to get him a new job, I believe I can help. My recommendation is that you stop requesting for people to get you a new job, as it may improve your chances. Potential future employers may feel that your comments reflect negatively on past and current employers, and this may indicate a lack of professionalism, loyalty, and the kind of savvy required for a successful career. It may also help if you stop blaming your previous employer for ending the job that you liked (which they gave you). They paid you to test view films and you chose to use this for personal gain by reviewing them. If I had done something like that, I would be grateful not to be fired immediately, and their request for you to stop embarrassing them publicly was fairly reasonable. It was your choice to leave the job and it was not forced upon you. It could also be argued that it doesn’t make the best podcast content.

The reason for me leaving my job was not a direct response to me reviewing films. i had done so for around 4 years without the issue ever coming up but a general update to the Social Networking And Blogging Policy meant that ANYONE in my position (ie reviewing films) would face an untenable future with the company.

I also think that if you’ve listened to to the podcast on an even semi-regular position you will know that I am not actually asking for anyone to just “give” me a new job. I use the podcast as a good excuse to blow off steam and I would not for one second actually use it to seriously request a new job from people listening. I appreciate the time you took to comment on the episode and I hope you enjoyed the rest of it but if you got annoyed by me about this, I’m sure there’s a lot of things I say on the cast that would annoy you lol.

I didn’t say it was a direct response to you reviewing films. As an employee of a certain UK cinema chain myself, I think that I might have a good knowledge of this policy you mention. I think that it is naïve to think that a general update to the Social Networking And Blogging Policy could not have been instigated in part by problems associated with ongoing activities, whether recent or over the preceding few years. Among these problems might be incidents such as; employees boasting about committing film piracy (saying that its “flying to America” just makes it worse by adding a sense of smugness to it); reviewing films you were paid to view for test screens. The job was only made untenable if you insist on continuing your reviews, which is a choice you made, and I think that the repeated bitching about it became somewhat self-indulgent.
